My website has both htm pages as well as cfm pages (used for an online store). I now want to concentrate more on the store rather than the content of the site so I wanted to get rid of some of the htm pages that are not relevant. They are indexed by google, yahoo etc. If I just delete them will they still show up in the search engines? If so how do I go about removing them so they don't show up in the search engines anymore.

As long as the URLs return "404 Not Found" or "410 Gone" status in the HTTP Header, they will be dropped from SERPs.

They will continue to be listed under "errors" in WMT for a while, as Google will not be sure you intended the removal.
