Laptop Wireless Options

I have a laptop and the administrator has turned off the wireless card for security reasons. Is there a way around this....such as an external wireless adpator? I don't have permissions to add software to the laptop.

If the laptop is company owned, it's their critter. Instead of looking to job loss for defeating their criteria, just buy your own laptop and open your own net account.
