I am in need of help. Norton wants me to....... Step 1: Add a publicly viewable file at the root folder of your Web
site.

a) Create a file with the following file name and content:

File name: nortonsw_d3dc3640-000d-0.html
File content: pfstvhc3dnj6l5oxk-li5r8hwbm4y60nl1xzjh6b7q1j796olv6kq84nkco2e0lifi3bn6pgzvf39lupkwh1xr7m0nulr-gppb9dhd36de0pcdeinyz1a20bosch3p7s

b) Add the file to the root folder of your Web site.
I have no idea how to do this. I have a web site and I need to put all this on the site to verifiy that I am the owner.
Thanks in advance for any help

1) Open Notepad.
2) Paste in the code.
3) Save as text (ANSI).
4) Rename the file.
5) Upload it (ftp).

If you don't know how to ftp it...

1) Open Explorer (Vista) or Internet Explorer (XP) and type ftp://yourdomain.com
2) Double-click the httpdocs folder (or whatever folder contains the files viewable in the http root directory).
3) Drag the file to upload it. Copy and paste might work - I've never tried it.

I presume you solicited this from Norton in some way. If this email was unsolicited, then ignore it.

Kaled.
