Forum Moderators: phranque
I just wanted to see how good my efforts have been thus far. I opened a website in mid February and thus far today I have "roughly" (no exacts) 450 pages on the site showing up in google's index. For such a new site should I be proud of those numbers thus far? Its really hard to gauge myself as a new webmaster. Any insights you can give are really appreciated :)
Traffic from search is more important than pages in search, are you getting any?
Also, and please don't take offense, but when you say you have 450 pages indexed on a 30 day old site... did you really write 15 top quality articles a day for a month? Most can't manage 1.
But no, I have been in development with this site since October and launched in February. To put it in perspective, the site is roughly 250,000 lines of php/templates and our database is 36 tables with 29,756 rows (125 registered members so far). I can't say any more due to regulations, but it is not a forum (I have also written every line of code MYSELF). It is all unique content. With all of that, in total we probably have around 1100 pages of UNIQUE content, and about 400 extraneous ones (member profiles, sub member profiles etc).
But, thus far in March we have had 58 users come in from google. I would like a whole lot more. I have about 1100 backlinks (from forum signatures), it's just difficult to focus on keywords being such a broad targeted site.
I hope that clears some things up for you :)
