Best Solution for Reliable E-Mail Delivery

I've had my web site on a shared host for several years now. Recently I've been having a lot of e-mail delivery problems; Yahoo, in particular, has been sending >50% of my e-mails to the spam box. (These are individual replies to customers, not bulk mail.)

I've spent a lot of time working on my message content, SPF records, filling out whitelist forms, etc., but ultimately I think the problem is with my host's routing of outbound mail: my dedicated IP => HELO the web server's shared IP => HELO one of an ever-changing array of shared outbound mail servers.

I'm debating between two solutions: (1) Move my web site to a better host, where I can control outbound mail routing so that it only touches my dedicated IP. (2) Leave my web site where it is, but use a third-party e-mail service provider to handle my outbound mail.

Any thoughts on which solution is better?

Thanks,

Using a professional 3rd party e-mail service seems like a good investment rather than chasing your tail on your own domain and hosting.
