Been a tough couple days. Our servers started to crash and we have been working on the move.
From my continued yelling "WE NEED TO BACKUP" we are ok but did lose some data due to the time we update. In the process of getting up the lost data now. Did lose one week of work on a new site but that is minor compaired to the years we saved.

Some of our sites were down for about 5-6 hours before we got the restore operational. I guess that is good to what could have been without the backup.

Here is my question I want us to go to an outside source to do the backup as we were doing it here in the office but the days the backup happened the time it took to update was just to long and caused some server strain. Our database is around 60-80g

Anybody got some good suggestions on outsourcing the backup?

I didn't understand this bit. Update what?

If an office backup strains the server then why would an outsourced solution not do that - if anything, it would consume the bandwidth.

Have you looked at automated backup solutions?
