Anyone Experiencing Hosting Weirdness

How could it only affect some sites on same ip

Checked a customers site it is getting a 403 forbidden page.
I calI the host they say they are experiencing tech issues, and will be resolved shortly.
I do a reverse DNS to check other sites on the exact same ip.
Cant find one that has a problem out of a dozen or so.
The only thing i may have done is update htaccess.
If htaccess was uploaded in binary instead of ascii could it do this ?
I can access control panel but cant FTP. I tried to overwrite the htaccess through control panel but didnt give me option of mode. Still no luck.

If the host is having tech issues as you say then that would be the first thing to watch. Since you don't say what their tech issues are exactly it would be hard to say what other action to take.

They wouldnt give me specifics, described it as a billing glitch. Got restored late yesterday but still kinda unsettling, all i know is it was something under the hood, and couldnt find any others on that ip had experienced it, yet it is a very popular host.
