Blog contests and the law

I want to run a blog contest on my site and give prices to the best blogs.
I have no clue what the US law is in regards to that. I have found a lot about the sweepstakes law, but nothing about contests where you give a price based on the quality of a task performed.

This will only be small prices in the $25-$50 range, but I want to make sure I don't get in any kind of trouble.

Anyone here know more about this?

Talk to a lawyer. Anything you can get here will only be an opinion and like noses some of them smell.

In general contests are regulated (USA) by both STATE and FEDERAL laws. This is NOT an easy thing to wrap your head about...
