Ok, I had a video on a popular site that was getting a ton of traffic, so I placed a link up, but am getting hardly any clickthroughs. Is CTR lower on these type of sites or what? What do you think.

Why would someone want to leave a video they are interested in watching?

Good point. But I would expected a little higher CTR, but that does make sense.

It depends on what the video is about and whether the link would be relevant to the user. I was looking at a video demonstration on a popular video site the other day and a message came up saying written instructions were available as well, which I could access through the link from the "more info" section. This was useful to me, so I clicked.

If the link doesn't promise to deliver me more of what I want though, I won't bother.

It is targeted, so I will give it more time
