Setup WP blog at blog.mydomain.com where mydomain is add-on domain

I'm trying to install Wordpress via cPanel, I've created a sub-domain with my add-on called blog.mydomain.com. But when I install to my add-on domain directory, it always redirects me to my main domain and I can't login to the Wordpress admin.
Is the right process to setup blog.mydomain.com as a sub-domain even though it's just added on? Where should the blog files be installed exactly?
Thanks in advance.

The blog files should be in the folder that the subdomain points to. Then make sure your config files are right (this could be your problem, especially if you are transferring WP rather than do a fresh install). Take care.
