Contacting Webmasters using Whois

Hey guys,

There's a group of 4 websites that I've been trying to get in touch with the owners of. I'm building a site that I hope will help both of our causes.

My problem is that the contact forms and such have proven to receive no response. I did a whois lookup to see who the owners were and to hopefully get different contact info.

Is this generally frowned upon? (To use contact info from whois for solicitation?)

Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful :)

I guess you could try again using the whois contact information.

But, if you've already tried to contact them through other channels (e.g., the contact e-mail address posted on the site), then it might just be that they're not interested.
