Hi, I've learned of a site that is openly promoting violence. The domain is registered via a proxy, but from the nameservers I've found the hosting company. And the site actually has a link to the company that designed it, who may well be unaware of the content! Both these companies are Canadian, though the content seems aimed at a US audience.

Does anyone have any tips on the propoer procedure for reporting this?

Thanks!

I think this falls under free speech. You can pretty much say anything on your own website these days.

In most jurisdictions promoting illegal activities will eventually result in the attention of local law enforcement agencies.

On your own website hosted on your own server in your own house, may be... Otherwise, I am not sure (e.g. most hosts have strong terms of service against websites that promote hate speeches).

The first thing to do is to contact the hosting company and inform them of the website...

Then, as piatkow said, you need to think local. See where the hosting company is located and do specific searches for any organisations, institutions, law enforcement agencies in the same area.

My 2 cents
