I have a new computer under warranty and although my old computer had Office installed - this one only came with a 60 day trial. After only a week or so it has gone to a semi functional version where I can download but not reply to emails. I have imported all my email from my old outlook express now cannot open that or export to Thunderbird - Doing it from Thunderbird I get an error message about not being able to save to a draft and Outlook wont let me export at all!

Any suggestions

Welcome to WebmasterWorld belgenbeau.

What happens when you try to export from Outlook?

I seem to have downloaded many of my messages to Thunderbird, however it did not download individual folders so I am worried that I dont have all of my emails .... I sadly must admit I have many emails back to 2004 - I do delete but I keep a lot due to my breeding dogs.

I will however just have to keep ising Thunderbird for the moment as I cannot reply with Outlook and cannot at this point afford Microsoft Professional which is what I need I have many access, powerpoint, publisher files also

Have you looked at
OpenOffice [why.openoffice.org]
there are many tools, and extensions available that offer most of MS office products

<edit> Forgot to memtion that most tools are working in either system</edit>
