Hi Everybody !

When you develop a website, how do you organise your work ?

I use a text editor with syntax coloration (Notepad++ or/and Kubuntu editor).

I have a ckecking list to control each file (well, te be sure to not forgot something).

I always use a diagram (made with Open Office Impress. But I tried DIA too) and an Open Office Calc Sheet to know where are my variables.

And you, how do you work ?

Thank you and have a nice day

First off "Welcome to the Jungle", Zeuf.

First thing for developing a website, IMHO anyway, is Content First, Content Second and Content Third. Do a general flow chart of how the site should interact within itself, Build any necessary templates for ease of adding content. Then start with the most important thing first........CONTENT.

I kind of like the motto "If you build it they will come", but there are some caveats to that. Which is a loooonnnngggg discussion. Oh, yeah. Throw in the "KISS" method and you're mostly good.

But hey, I'm a marketer not a technical person. Therefore I'm probably not the best person to answer your questions.

I have an idea, I look up the keywords and the competition to decide if I stand a chance.

The content theme is then decided upon, pages are written and I tehn decide how I intend to layout the pages.

Pretty simple really
