i used to have a small desktop application to perform lookups on namerservers and could get the A records for the subdomains. I forgot what i was was using and need to check this info on the authorative nameserver. Using online tools you only get the records for the base domain and the www. Any ideas on how i can run a check for all the setup subs on the ns?

Subdomains will only have "A" records if they are on a different server/ip and set up accordingly in the nameserver you query. Otherwise they are going to be CNAME entries. To get each, you need to know the name of the subdomain.
