Hi, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this... but not sure where exactly to post it?

Two questions:
1. when generating a sitemap I get asked what priorities to place on each page from 0.1 to 1. What are the best settings to place? Homepage is the most important and I have about 197 pages with 137 indexed (the others are image files. (Google analytics doesn't seem to like them all being the same at 0.4)

2. I have three urls (xyz) that are found with the sitemap generator (about four that I have tried) and also Google analytics - basically when I generated and linked to the pages I forgot to put the .html on the end. I have deleted the pages but they are still being 'found' as 404 errors.. I cannot find where they are being linked from. Any suggestions? or tool to find them?

1.i would put a higher priority on new pages that should be crawled sooner and pages where the content changes often.

2.look for those 404 urls in the access log and look at the referrer(s).

The 404 reports are a pain on a large site. There is no hint as to which page has the problem.
