Is there any penalty with SE's when placing product brand, id# and pricing in the meta tags of buy pages? An answer or a link to a discussion on this topic would be swell.

I don't know of any specific SE penalties, but there may be some legal issues if you aren't the owner of a trademarked name: trademarks & meta tags [google.com]
