i have designed a 1 dollar bill for one of our marketing campaigns...

its the actual front side of the dollar bill... but all of the guts have been removed... everything except the numeral 1's that are in each corner and the fancy design around the edge...

i have replaced the guts with text and our corporate logo...

any regulations on using this for internal marketing purposes?

Only copyright.

Actually, there may be specific laws about defacing the design of US bank notes. But definitely copyright.

Do you really want people claiming real dollars in exchange for your 'internal' ones?

I agree with Quadrille. Even if you're "within" the law, I am sure the Secret Service could find away to make life difficult for you if they felt the urge to do so. I'm no lawyer, but I don't think the Treasury Dept. is an entity with which one should test the limits. Too much risk for the available reward.

It might be best to borrow some of the design elements you like and transfer them to an entirely new template.

Well the only thing we are going to do is pass them out to employees within our campus...i has a message on the bill like: "here is what you can do for one child with one dollar"...blah blah...

with an address to our intranet to link to a donation site...
(very big non profit company)

the dollar bill is tinted blue, our corporate color, ...

and thats it... its not going outside of the campus..

unless someone gets an itch and tries to do something dumb...

and its about 25% bigger than a regular bill...
