Hi,

My website was written using basic asp and I'm just getting around to updating it to aspx. My host tells me that the application pool recycle time is set to 20 minutes. As far as I understand, this means that when I ftp an aspx file to the server that it will take 20 minutes to reflect the change I made to that file. Is this really the case? Why would they set the recycle time to 20 minutes?

Thank you.

Any time estimate that I have had from a hosting company has been very pessimistic and things have been available in a fraction of the time quoted. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they are just managine expectations to cover themselves against minor glitches.

Thanks piatkow.

It really does take 20 minutes in this case. I've tested it. Thing is though that changes to asp pages are reflected immediately.
