Hosting expiring by accident

I meant to renew it honest!

The renewal notice was sent to an email I only check once every couple of months.

I have been a customer of that hosting company for five years and they didn't even give me any leeway for it.

Now I have to decide whether to tell everyone my site is down or wait for the all the emails and phone calls (it's a personal site, but people will be worried about me still.)

I am considering staying up until the site comes back online as I won't be able to get to sleep knowing it is down. I've already paid the renewal and am waiting to hear back from the company.

Well having my own VPS... there's a graphic that looks like a switch...really, at least in plesk. Domain On/ Domain off, its that simple. Call them up and say you want it activated. They should have the decency to do that especially if you have been there for 5 years. Granted it's your fault for not paying the bill but its not going to kill them to turn it on since you have shown good faith in trying to pay the bill.

It was on a Sunday night so it was probably the worst time for this sort of thing to happen. The site was back up when I woke up this morning.
