For a limited period the BBC News Website is experimenting with clickable links within the body of news stories.

example [news.bbc.co.uk] and background info [news.bbc.co.uk]

Perhaps link fiends will in future be looking at the BBC for a quality link?

Interesting that they're using a third party for the links, and that the functionality relies entirely on javascript.

true, questionable SEO benefit perhaps, though the clickthroughs would be welcome even if the sites are actually 2 clicks away.

I'm unsure about the way content is chosen from pages for the links, and where it's stored....it's a bit sad that simple [references] couldnt be applied with links directly to the references or the footer like wiki but I like the concept in general.
