Any body got some helpful hints or tips. Im more geared towards sites that sell 5 products rather than 500.
Maybe I should hire out a graphics designer and see what they come up with?
What are your thoughts on this?

I will not use a regular cart environment. Built it as "a content website" But from each product section offer a direct link to a custom cart process, simple direct to the point From basket --> checkout directly And I will forget all the "customer that bought this...bought that" and other more or less useless functions

Pretty artwork is nice, but do your homework on information architecture/navigation structure (and usability) first thing.

I agree with henry0. The best thing you can do is keep it "short and sweet" and right to the point. It sounds like you can get by with static pages, so put in the product, a description, price, image and a buy now button (or "add to cart" if you go that route). Even if you eventually go to dynamic pages, you will do better if it is direct and to the point.
