Looking for something like Google Docs/Writeboard

I'm looking to integrate some sort of collaborative document sharing/editing into my site- something like Google Docs or a writeboard . It doesn't need to be as sophisticated as Google Docs. Probably just the ability to revise plain text documents (and track changes) would be enough. I did wonder about using a wiki, but even this has a lot more features than I need.

Is anyone aware of a freely available (or cheapish) script (pref PHP) to do something similar?

A wiki would probably meet your needs from the sounds of it. There are some very simple ones out there that don't have too many bells and whistles. There are several you can try out on the opensourceCMS site.
