Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to find a company that made a particular website. I recently came across a website of which I loved the format of. I emailed the owner of it and he or she has not responded back to me. I was wondering if anybody knows a way to find out what company made this particular website if its not listed anywhere on the pages. Thank you for your time.

You might see if they included a <meta name="Author" content="Author Information">. I usually don't, and they probably didn't, but it would be worth a peek.

I would also give the owner another shot. I don't usually include any links or logos for myself either, but would be mighty disappointed if an owner didn't recommend my services if asked. Just be clear that you are not a potential competitor and that you don't want to 'rip' the site - just that you like the quality of the work.

You might try calling. Luck into the right person and they may just tell you straight out that it was ABC Designs.

Push come to shove you'll just have to hire somebody to knock it off:)) Change the backgrounds, clean up the code, move a few elements around - even the original designer might never recognize the inspiration.

i would also look for identifying comments or other clues in the code.
don't forget to check in the scripts and style sheets as well as the html.
