Hey there,

I'm doing a redesign job at the moment and want to optimise the interface so that I maximise the revenue from my ad space. My qestion is what are the most popular banner dimensions. I have to go with at least 180*150 rectangle ad, so I would be very interested in getting a breakdown of what sizes are popular/valuable and what's not so good!

thanks you in advance,

regards,
DB

IMO your question should be what are the most unpopular dimensions, kidding of course but I'd make them 1 or 2 px different. Some ad blocking software will block images based on dimension alone, the most popular sizes will of course top the list.

Enter the time machine and head back to 2004, [webmasterworld.com...]

Don't know what has changed on that list or what has been added.

My answer is the very reason such broad filters should never be used. The person serving an ad will be aware of it in lot of cases and can circumvent it, others like mtself simply serving regular images that have nothing to do with ads will get caught up in the filter...
