I'm wondering if anyone else has come across this problem before and know of a solution to it.
We've got a vanity url/redirect set up for one of our services. The redirect is of this format: www.ourcompanyname.com/redirect and takes the user directly to one of our services on our website.
Most us are aware that the average user will typically type that into the search box on their browser's homepage. However, when you do this with our redirect, the results show our page as number one and 3-4 other results. The other results are links to adult sites (one contained a virus when clicking on the link) and adult-themed keywords showed up in the search results description, right next to the name of our redirect.
As far as I know, there's a not a lot we can do about this as we can't control what the search engines display (I wish we could!) but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what steps you took to protect your brand.
Any help will be much appreciated!
