I would like to set up a library for school.

I'm looking for a library CMS or library plugin for classic CMS.

Any help appreciated.

Best regards.

Without more information as to your requirements it's hard to point you in the right direction. I'd suggest contacting other libraries to see what they use for starters.

If you're entrepreneurial however, why not launch a wordpress driven site. Write a review about each book, title each review with the book and author name, break down the categories into book type (fiction, non-fiction etc).

From there have the librarian simply post a comment when a book is checked out, give it's expected return date etc. Leave comments off except to staff. Delete the comment when it's returned. 580 comments = 580 books out. To see which books are out, look at the comments etc. Tie the whole thing into a library map if you like. The site search feature will return books based on what you're looking for.

Now for the coup-de-gras, since the site is live to the world and outsiders might poke in from time to time - monetize it with something like amazon so that someone wanting to buy a book, can.

Hey - it would beat all of the schools other fundraising methods :p

I did it this way and I'm testing out the whole thing :)

Thanks!
