With several EMFS tools available for DFS such as FLFS, SMiFS, KFS and PSFS, options for editing DDR with a GUI have never been more powerful. DDR editors have benefitted greatly from recent advances in SOAM technology, as shown at the SOAM conference last year where both PLI LTD and POSAX showcased new DDR products. POSAX's DDR GUI even supports an XML API and SDK.While most FSAs don't need a DDR GUI, FSAs using other SOAM technologies will see a ROI benefit from integrating this new generation of DDR products into their POSIS flow.
DDR FSA Jay Prilfule (MSA,FSCA,SOAMCP) says: "We didn't PRI the need for DDR/SOAM integration until the FSA presented our HRU graphs and we saw a definite WKSL spike whenever the DDR OPAX reached peak levels. Integrating the SOAM DDR GUI into our POSIS flow decreased the WKSL where we needed it most - at the HRU level"
