Let's say I have the opportunity to work 6 months for my own, full-time. I have a budget for projects with about $2500 to spend. I'm a webdeveloper so I won't need to spend money on that.

Will it be possible in that amount of time to start earning a income and not having to look for another job? If so, what strategy should I follow?

So you have $2500 to invest into business or is that all the money you have?
If the $2500 is to invest into business, it should be reasonably easy. However, I say that because I am already inside and have made similar stuff.
It can be done but you need to work and read a lot!
My hint would be: do not try to go for SEO as the main purpose. Try to go for PPC profits as the main objective and do your SEO after you are done with that.

Ever thing else being equal it all boils down to the right niche and good content. Without those two things you are driving down a dead end!...KF

idolw, I'm not familiar with the PPC route. Any reading you can suggest to start?

I see a lot of people in that thread don't think he'll make it. He clearly has better writing skills than I do (I'm also not English). But writing 2 quality articles a day and "social networking" on forums and blogs is an option. If you choose the right market probably.
