How do I change the sitemap for my new URL?

I have changed the name of my site and had my host point the old name to the new. However, the sitemap is still under the old name. How do I change everything in the sitemap over to the new site name? Instructions I've found on the web for creating sitemaps are for sites with a maximum of 500 pages. Mine is 4,000 +. Any guidance you have would be appreciated!

here's what the Google Webmaster Help Center says about sitemaps [google.com].
just replace your sitemap with the new one and wait for it to be crawled again.
use google webmaster tools to make sure it can be accessed properly.
