301 redirect with e-mail accounts?

We have two domains we need to manage. A primary domain and a secondary domain. We would like the secondary domains to redirect to the primary domain so that when someone types in the secondary domain, the url changes to that of the primary domain. From my understanding, this can be achieved via 301 redirect.

Our problem is that the secondary domain has several e-mail accounts associated with it. How will setting up the secondary domain as a 301 redirect to the primary domain affect the e-mails. Is what we are trying to do even possible? (basically have a domain that has e-mail accounts associated with it be a permanent 301 redirect to another domain)

Thanks in advanced!

What happens to emails is controlled at the DNS level, via MX (mail exchanger) records.

301 redirects are basically just a method of seving websites: nothing to do with emails. Most likely, your domain registrar's control panel will allow you to set MX records or set up mail forwarding to configure rmail for the domain. Redirect to your heart's content ;)
