A friend of mine had a good directory/referral in the Adword/affiliate mode.

About six months ago he decided to discontinue the site as he has about 50 other accounts all doing well. He had good PR and good links, history, etc.

My question is if I acquire the site and the domain name, keywords etc would I be able to salvage the PR, QS etc, etc. Or as far as Google concern it would
be considered a brand new site and I would have to earn my way back?

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!...KF

When you say discontinue, do you mean he stopped putting any effort in but left the site live, or that he completely deleted the site?

If the site was still up and running then you should still keep the PR to an extent. Like everything in natural SEO though, changes you make will be reflected in rankings and no doubt in PR - depending on the scale of the change.

So it really depends on what has happened with the site since it was discontinued. If it was completely deledted then I suspect you will also loose PR and ranking since Google will no doubt have recognised the removal.

Would you be aquiring the site and domain to keep the site going? Or are you planning on just using the traffic and promoting something else?

Have you thought of parking the domain? If it is getting high traffic you could buy it and see if the traffic it has can generate some click revenue for you.
