Firstly, apologies for a very amateur question from a newbie to this forum...please do not read on if your offended by simplistic questions. I've just created a website and I want to set up my site so that when someone clicks a link to an external site, my site benefits from hits to MY site.. i.e. opening a window within my site.

Open in a new window by all means but framing within your own site is at best bad manners and at worst considered as trying to pass off copyright content as your own.

you can frame another site in yours,

this way the outer frameset will be your page and the page that shows will be the external page.

however i'm not sure what you mean by registering hits, basically if an external page shows that is a call(hit) for an external page from their server, it won't register on your server as a 'hit'.

also be aware that a great amny sites employ 'frame busters'which will break them out of an external frame.

however i'm not sure this has answered your question. can you be more specific?
