.asp ending while its .php does it matter for google?

Hello,

i got a joomla site, and downloaded a script wich translates the endings from anything to .asp or what i like i could do it .abc

so il changed to .asp the .php while the site isnt .asp its php because .asp looks better but is it better for google search engines or not?

mean like www.example.com/index.php to www.example.com/index.asp or what ever ending i like, should i do it .html .asp or .php or doesnt it matter?
