Good single-optin autoresponder service?

Hi,

I'm looking for a good autoresponder that allows single opt-in, preferably self-hosted but would consider getting a virtual dedicated server with a unique IP then host with a self-hosted autoresponder script if I have to.

To give a frame of reference, I've tried a few... I'm not talking about the double opt-in services like aweber and getresponse.

The services I've tried for single opt-in have very poor deliverability rates, I would sign-up as a test under 5 different e-mails and would receive like 2... 2 hours later!

So that's no good. Please advise.
