I hope I'm posting in the correct discussion forum.

I'm moving my site and email from GoDaddy to a new provider.

Are there any issues with moving email? How do I move historical email to my new host?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

here is matt cutts on moving to a new web host [mattcutts.com].

as far as email, it depends on if you use an email client (and therefore download all emails often) or web-based mail (and therefore keep your email on the server).
if you are using an email client, you simply check your email right before the change and point your client to the new pop3 and smtp servers.
if you keep your email and attachments on the server, it depends on the server setup - you may need GD tech support...

I just did the same with my email, but now I use Gmail with my domain name...under the Google apps. I was able to enter the mail server info and Gmail pulled all of my old emails to the new account. I'm sure other hosting companies might do something like this, but it was very easy.
