I want to use a piece of software that is an article exchange system, but I am required to set up an articles template that displays other peoples articles on my website and an index template that will determine the format of the article directory page.
Thing is I haven't got a clue.
Is there anybody who can tell me how to do this in terms that are easy to follow?
I would appreciate any assistance.
Regards, BP.

The solution could be trivial or it could be very complex depending on exactly what your software vendor is expecting to see in a template. Without knowledge of exactly what they want it is difficult to know what advice would be useful.

Some random thoughts:
1. Basic html tags can be mastered in a couple of hours. Just search for some free tutorials.
2. HTML is just text, if the layout is simple then you could use Notepad which all Windows PCs have anyway.
3. Check if there are any sample templates available that you can use as a starter - again you can open them in Notepad.
4. Does the vendor have a user forum. If it does then check it out for useful topics.
