conference suggestions

I am sure this has been covered, but I couldn't find anything in the search.

My work experience has focused around web development, some graphics, flash etc. I have taken a new role where I am managing a larger set of sites for a company, doing less development and trying to drive the web strategy a bit more.

What I am wondering is, are there conferences that cover general web strategy issues, show emerging technology, etc.? Anything that someone has attended that fits this bill, and that they would recommend? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I attended Pubcon in Vegas Dec 2007... Worth every penny. Awesome conference. Incredibly smart people w/ great ideas... I will be attending every year going forward even if I have to take out a 2nd mortgage to pay for it! lol

anyways, I guess the 2008 pubcon schedule isn't out yet? I would like to start planning my travel schedule - hopefully I can attend this year.
