Hello, I have a dedicated server with cpanel and I am getting spam from some of my own domains, could anyone please help me stop this problem, since I work for an online travel agency and mail security is a must for customer service.

please help me out, I dont have a clue on how to fix this, I am not an open relay so I suppose they are using my domain names for SPAM,

I am Using Cpanel 11.

thank you for the feedback

First of all, welcome to Webmaster World!

Second of all, please edit your post to remove the domain names- that's not allowed.

Third of all, is the SPAM actually being sent from your server, or are SPAMMERS just using your domain names and forging the headers? If the former, then you have some serious work ahead of you to de-virus/Trojan your server. If the latter, there's nothing you can do about it except to make sure that your mail server does not allow relaying of messages (how to do this depends on the mail server program you're using).

I get spam with my own address as the "from" address. Whenever I check the headers they always appear to be simple spoofing from other locations.

I dont think there is much you can do when they're spoofing your email address from another server.

I'm not aware of any fixes that can be done from your side.

One way to reduce spam is the 'catch all' emails. Although this wont solve this particular problem, it will get rid of any emails that are directed to email address that aren't setup on your domain names.

SPF records for your domain can help prevent this but won't wipe it out entirely. it's called joe-jobbing.

if you're allowed to post the headers and let us know the ip of your cpanel server we might be able to tell you if it actually came from your server or not.
