Hi,

This is an incredibly simple question, but I'm (embarrassingly) having problems figuring out how to get it sorted.

I have a work POP3 email address and when at the office I send messages out via the Demon's (our ISP) SMTP server.

When at home, I have to send emails out using a different SMTP server such as that of my ISP right? Presumably I need just the username password details to do this and set this up in my email client and I can do it with any ISP...?

I've been trying to get the details from theISP I'm with in Spain at the moment, but they tell me I can't use it to send out my work emails. How does everyone else do it? Only via a webmail interface?

I think you need to do this through your ISP but if you Google free SMTP server there are utilities that can let you do as you ask.

(Qualification: I am no expert and I haven't tried this myself.)

Thanks for getting back to me. Seems a little research was all that is needed:

Note the message posted at the end to make sure you automatically send out from your work address rather than from your gmail account.

Good enough solution for me I think!
