Hi guys,
I need to migrate from everyone.net. MSFT has made it very easy to sign up and I love the fact that they have an open membership system. The way google has it, makes it impossible for me as I cannot go back and forth trying to sign up every user.

Questions:
I -- Can I move the users /passwords from Everyone.net to Windows Live? If so, how and what do I ask from Everyone.net?

II -- Can I move the mx records and still have people access the old mail via the existing myname.mail.everyone.net. I assume that some people might not get the message and need some time to migrate.

Thanks to all

Walkman, did you switch to Live Domains yet, if so how is that working out for you.

I was considering signing up but I noticed that there is no way to login to email accounts from my site, only a Microsoft banner with link buttons to "sign up" or "login". Is there any way to change that?

not yet. I sent an email to my users and gave them 30 days to save. No idea on how to transfer.

did you find a way to get account info from everyone.net?

a couple years ago a domain expired and the users could log into the everyone.net login page and read mail and send mail. but not receive mail. dunno if it still works like that.

if it does, you could put a link to the old login page on your new site, so old users could get their old mail.

I have a domain there now, and that's what I'm thinking of doing. also thinking of moving it to live hosted email, for the 5 gig space instead of current 25 megs.

I have mydomain.mail.everyone.net so it is possible, unless they block it. I am afraid that by asking, they will block it :)

As far as transfering: I am waiting for an answer from MSFT.

Live Domains does have a migration system so you can import users. You can download it from this page:
