Hi Guys and gals,

Greetings from a chilly but sunny southern France. Air France have finished their recent wave of strikes, so please come back and visit us when you have the time!

Moving on......I've been doing some research on companies html that are scoring higher in the listing stakes than my own. I noticed one such firm
have placed the following in their header section in green colour:

<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="INDEX,FOLLOW">
<!-- bicycle tour france, france cycling tour, walking tour europe, france walking tour, bicycle tour in france, france tour, france vacation, travel to france, un tour de france, bicycle tour europe --

What's that all about? The info basically simply repeats what they have listed as their keywords. Should I follow suit?

Thanks,

Scott

Should I follow suit?

Nope.

The first -- <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="INDEX,FOLLOW"> -- is simply restating the default behaviour, that you want robots to index the page and follow links they find. The second is simply a keyword stuffed comment.

Neither will help, and the second can hurt.

Thanks Jimbeetle. Much appreciated.

It doesn't seem to have stopped my competitor gaining first place in the natural listings, but this may be a short term advantage of course, and I want long-term success!

Best wishes,
Scott
