I recently put a site live, and being proactive i have started using a blog that covers the subject that the site relates to.
In my signature for the blog i have a link to my site and not so long ago google spidered the blog site and my external links in google webmaster updated with over 30 links from this blog. A couple of weeks passed and google again spidered the site pickin up more links, the difference this time was that although the number of links increased by another 30, there was no reference to this site in the links table.
Is this because google has seen that these sort of links are 'spammy' and not naturally built links? if this is the case should i get rid of this link from my blog signature?
The problem with getting rid of the link is that there are alot of click throughs that i get from this blog of other members looking at my site, so removing it might decrease trafic.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
