Hi all,

I've just got a massively increase in the number of pages indexed by Google. My website went live 3 months ago and until last week, it only has 20,000 pages in Google index. Since yesterday, the number has increased to 90,000 and then around 120,000 now. I notice huge amount of Google bot visits in the last few weeks.

So anyone with similar experience please share? Should I have to worry about anything? Sorry if this question sounds silly. I developed many websites but this is the first one I own.

Thanks.

So long as they are 'real' pages (ie not 40,000 pages each indexed thrice), and so long as the content is yours and original, you have nothing to worry about ... and a lot to celebrate!

climbingrose;
Hmm wonder why as there is suppose to be a link value with the indexing of a site. You did not say that there has been some good quality links added so why were these pages indexed at such a large rate is something that may be of some concern.

Does your site have that much content?
Is it original content?
Have you gotten some good links?

Best you can answer the questions and keep us informed on the indexing...

Hi,

I did indeed get some high quality link (PR 3,4,5) from university and government websites. Not many but quality websites. Since my website is an aggregator, it doesn't have much original content. However, the website is actually very useful and clean and therefore, it's easy for me to get links from relevant websites. I guess this might be a reason. I also tried to link as many internal pages together as possible. Since I started doing that, I've been receiving massive Google bot traffic.
