I'm making a new site that's currently hosted on yahoo. I'm designing outside of all that. There will be a news page and i would to provide an easy way to add content for those who aren't as code saavy. What's the best way to go about providing something like this?

Lots of choices when it comes to Content Management Systems (CMS). Google "cms matrix" if you want to compare various options.

Two popular open-source CMSs are Drupal and Joomla. I prefer Drupal, but it's got a somewhat steeper learning curve and isn't quite as non-tech friendly.

ExpressionEngine is a commercial CMS that looks pretty good. We're evaluating it now, but haven't done much with it.

Also - I wouldn't recommend Yahoo hosting. I had a horrible experience with them, (it was a years ago, but I haven't heard anything positive since).

Plus it's expensive compared to competitors. Sticky-mail me if you want recommendations.
