anyone got a good lead they can PM me for a website survey?

I am developing a real estate site and want to know from my customers what they would like to see, what they didnt get from my site, ...etc....etc...

i could do a PHP page, but dont know if there are any additional components i can use to gather the statistics and paint me a pretty picture...

Try a web search for survey software or web site surveys. There are a lot of free ones available.

Well i found most of those, but they seem to have a catch...

either i have to use their style and format, and use their company name...

Or, they are limited...

I guess if i want something serious, i might have to kick down a few dollars, or get my programming skills tuned up.

I suppose if the survey consists of radio buttons and dedictaed answers you could easily use PHP MySQL and then query the database to generate reports.

First...I'm not saying that it's a bad idea...

but...ask yourself...If you're looking for real estate info...and the site you go to doesn't provide enough info about it's properties...are you going to fill in a form about about it? or ar you just going to click back and find another site?

I've been this route with customers that just "have" to have people fill out forms...it normally won't work the way you want it to...you may get a couple people that were in the right mood, at the right time, to fill out a form on a site they can't find what they're looking for...

but....it's just too easy to "move on" to another site that has more information...
(spend 5 minutes filling out a form to assist that sites owner in figuring out what they "didn't" place on the site....or click to another site that has the info.....what would YOU do?)

I believe that you'll find you're wasting your time and effort trying to get people to tell you why...

A year ago I spent hours going over sites looking for a house....It's unbelievable the amount of sites with no pictures, no info...no reason for me to even deal with them...it was too easy to get that same info from another realtors site...

I want to see the house...I want to see inside...I want to know all about the house...utilities, schools, transportation in the area, maybe even some history about the area...a price and a 90x90 picture isn't going to sway me to call you...be complete about the house info...

I ended up driving 1200 miles round-trip to see a house that I intended to buy...however they neglected to say that the house was in a retirement village...I have 2 kids and 2 dogs....neither were welcome there...but nobody said anything until I showed up there...

did I look at anything else they had...no way..too pissed about the neglect of information...and the waste of my time and money...

did I call them originally? yes...we talked about the house for about 45 minutes...I even told them I have kids/dogs...the realtor obviously had no clue what they were doing...they just wanted to sell the house, not help their potential customer find a "home"...
