My host claims my IP isn't banned, the DNS wasn't changed (no need to wait for propogation) and I can still access the hosting site but I can't touch my own site through browsers, FTP, or the control panels on the hosts site.

They had me try to access a number of their servers, including the server on which their hosting site is held, but even though I can see that site, I can't see any servers. I'm thinking I am in fact banned in some way, but they got it wrong.

The only other explanations I have seen for similar issues had to do with the ISP or even the router firewall (I know nothing about any of this).

Still, this isn't a site that should have gotten any kind of banning and I can see everything else on the internet, so any suggestions? The host told me she was going to move the server that I'm on to the one hosting their own site and if it didn't resolve the issue she had no other suggestions but that I change hosts.

If you're on Windows, open a command window type tracert your domain:

tracert www.example.com

It will show you the route your ISP connection takes to reach your site, and may give an indication of where the problem is.

While tracert functions normally on any other site, when trying it on mine it does absolutely nothing...no text generated...the window just closes out after a few seconds.

It could be your own firewall blocking the site for having lots and lots of communication with you (DOS protection). Common on Belkin routers.

Try adding the site's IP address into /etc/hosts (for windows: c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts I think), followed by a space, then the domain name.

When you wish to tracert something in windows, open cmd first, then tracert and the window won't close when it's done - you'll see the error.
