US server and Canadian IP?

My question is along the lines of another thread in this forum that Tedster locked.

My hosting company has its servers in the US. However, I found out that the company buys IP's in bulk from Canada.

My new site is in an extremely competitive niche, and I don't need anything more hindering its progress.

Do the Canadian IP's cause problems with ranking?

Could well do, the host should re-register them as US IPs.....
