How can I integrate a blog script into my website?

What is the best script to start with?

I want to integrate a blog script into my site. Ideally on the index page will be a feed that lists the latest blog entries. Something like a date, title, brief description and linked to the full listing.

Also there should be the entire blog in a seperate section of my site. Basically a complete blog system like wordpress offers in my own design of course.

Should I use a news script or a blog script to do this? I'd like to be able to post photos & video in the postings.

If using a blog script, my main concern is how I can integrate a section in my index page that automatically lists the latest blog postings in an abbreivated list. Do any sripts automatically have this feature?

My other concern is how I can integrate the blog system into my existing design.

What would be the best blog script to start with? Key features are the ease of design integration and index page integration.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Tom

Different packages have different ways of incorporating their content and editing their templates. Generally it's not too difficult to mimic an existing site's design.

You seem to want a lot of the blog content on your home page. Why not let the blog software control that page? That's one option. Another might be to include the information you want in an iframe.

Take a look at MovableType. They're probably the oldest big name in blogging software.
