A piece of software I use, which is themable, doesn't appear to have a website for "themers". I was going to put one online, only...I really don't feel it's necessary to write up software to do this.

There's literally hundreds of applications that are themable, and more websites exist for sharing those themes.

Is there a simple, ready to go package I can install on a web server for this? Recommendations? Personal Experience with any?

Thanks,

In my experience, the best theme sharing websites are those which allow you to 'try before you buy' a theme. They show you an instance of the software itself, with an added drop-down to choose between any of the themes on the site. Pick the theme ... see it live.

If you don't want to go to such a level, one of the many download library sites will do the job. Consider modifying a picture/photo gallery script as this will integrate comments/metadata and a nice preview image - just needs the download link adding.

There's no "buy" option, this is going to be completely free :)

Basically it just needs to allow logins for "themers", a way to upload some screenshots, and the theme tarball/zip, and some meta-data about it (for search purposes, compatible software version, theme version, etc.) and a gallery for viewing them.

That's it.

By 'try before you buy' I meant more in the sense of generically previewing something live than necessarily buying it.

I'd still suggest modifying a photo gallery package. Add on live preview if at all possible!
